SUMMARY

Niugini Arabica is a multi-award-winning coffee roasting business proudly specializing in premium Arabica beans sourced directly from the highlands of Papua New Guinea. With a deep commitment to quality and ethical sourcing, we roast our beans locally to bring out their unique, rich flavor profiles.

We operate two welcoming retail outlets in Canberra, located in Duffy and Curtin (ACT), where customers can purchase our freshly roasted coffee products. Each location also features a cozy café-style space where visitors can relax and enjoy a cup of our signature coffee, complemented by a selection of light fast-food bakery items.

In this position, you will be responsible to handle business operations for our two retail stores located at Duffy and Curtin where Duffy being the primary store.

DUTIES

• Management of the day-to-day operation of retail outlets located at the Duffy and Curtin shopping centres.

• Oversee the preparation and packaging of organic coffee beans to ensure consistent quality and availability for sale in our retail outlets and online sales, supporting the end-to-end product lifecycle from sourcing to shelf.

• Management of the on-line shop of Niugini Arabica.

• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

• Training, supervision and onboarding of staff.

• The ability to use strategic marketing to increase brand awareness and drive sales, focusing on ethical sourcing and sustainability values.

• Inventory management and managing customer enquiries in store and online.

• Management of distribution for wholesale and on-line customers

• Monitoring the business's finances, including cash flow and daily sales from both Duffy and Curtin shops, the wholesale business and the online business.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Proven staff management and leadership skills.

• Passion and knowledge of coffee products.

• Understanding of Coffee roasting fundamentals.

• Strong skills in stock management, visual merchandising and operations.

• Qualifications and experience relevant to Retail management are required.

• Minimum of 1 year of work experience preferably involving coffee and related products.

• At least a Diploma level qualification or certificate related to management is required.
