Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Prepares and compiles records on the nursing unit. Initiates directions from physicians and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

EMT, C.N.A. or ER tech preferred.

De-escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty

Current BLS required or obtained upon hire.

High school diploma or equivalent

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Competency checkist must be completed prior to being able to start IVs Major Machines, Tools, Equipment & Work Aids used:

Vital sign monitoring equipment, patient transporting/lifting equipment, computers, glucometers, weight scales, specialty beds, suction devices, phone, fax/copier/scanner, traction equipment, pc
