Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Are you passionate about turning data into actionable insights? In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of high-impact, system-wide strategic and operational reporting projects. As a key resource for all WSU units and the Modernization team, you’ll be the go-to expert for everything related to Workday reporting.

You'll apply your analytical skills to understand business needs, design effective solutions, and ensure accurate interpretation of complex data across the university. Your ability to translate technical details into clear, meaningful information will empower decision-makers at every level.

In this position, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve critical reporting issues, proactively identify new reporting opportunities, and ensure compliance with state and university policies. With a strong customer-focused mindset, you’ll deliver data solutions that drive business success.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime Eligibility will be determined by final placement in the salary range.

Monthly Salary Range:

$4,942.10 - $7,569.55

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years professional experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. Related degrees include Finance, Accounting, or other Business fields.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels.

Demonstrated sensitivity to, and desire to promote, diversity.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.

A record showing commitment to customer service and the application of appropriate flexibility in response to issues and opposing points of view.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with relational databases, SQL knowledge, and object-oriented design.

Experience with report development (designing, coding, testing, optimizing) for complex reports

Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, etc

Experience with system-wide business processes in Finance, Procurement, Time and Attendance, HR, Payroll, Grants, Benefits, Budget, and others.

Experience with statistical analysis and reporting on Financial, HR, Procurement, Grants, or Payroll data

Technical experience with Workday, including Workday reporting tools (Report Writer, PRISM, Dashboards, Adaptive Planning, Discovery Boards, OfficeConnect)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and design user-friendly reports, dashboards, and visualizations for all audience levels.
