Job Overview:
The RPLS/Project Manager is a critical leader within our surveying department, responsible for managing complex, high-impact survey projects from kickoff through completion. This role combines technical expertise, strategic project management, and strong client relationship skills to ensure the successful delivery of accurate and timely surveying services throughout the Houston Metro area.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of land surveying projects.
Collaborate directly with clients to define project goals, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing timely updates and professional communication.
Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary survey teams, including field crews and office staff.
Delegate tasks effectively while ensuring all project activities align with scope, quality, and schedule expectations.
Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and allocate resources for maximum efficiency.
Source necessary equipment, subcontractors, and materials to support project success.
Maintain high standards of data accuracy and adherence to state and industry surveying protocols.
Implement and enforce rigorous quality control measures.
Maintain detailed documentation including project plans, change orders, and communication logs.
Review and finalize survey deliverables such as maps, plats, legal descriptions, and reports.
Oversee preparation and review of invoices, proposals, contracts, and related documentation.
Collaborate with the Project Controls Specialist and Operations Manager to resolve any invoicing or project documentation discrepancies.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) licensure or the ability to obtain licensure.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing land surveying projects or related work.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
Excellent project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of land surveying methods, standards, and deliverables.
Preferred experience with Carlson Software or similar survey data processing tools.
Proficient in project management tools and survey technology.
Valid driver s license and ability to travel to job sites and client locations as required.

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $130,000 - $140,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
