We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our client's operations in Providence, RI. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in EHS compliance and workplace safety.Compensation
Local Rate: $60/hr
Non-Local Rate: $53/hr
Per Diem: $150/day (for contractors traveling 50+ miles from site)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: WeeklySchedule
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Total Weekly Hours: 40Project Scope
The EHS Specialist will oversee environmental, health, and safety protocols at a manufacturing facility, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Key responsibilities include:
Oversight of basic general industry safety programs
Respiratory protection implementation
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance
Working within cleanroom environments
Independently identifying and resolving health & safety non-conformities
Note: No industrial hygiene sampling required, but candidates must be capable of understanding and enforcing respiratory programs.Qualifications
Experience:
1-5 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Certifications (Preferred):
OSHA 10
OSHA 511Responsibilities
Conduct site safety inspections and employee safety orientations
Develop, review, and support implementation of site HSE programs
Maintain EHS postings, regulatory submissions, and safety documentation
Support audits and inspections, including upcoming stormwater evaluations
Conduct full and partial EHS audits to ensure ongoing complianceRequired Skills & Knowledge
In-depth understanding of OSHA, EPA, and manufacturing safety practices
Familiarity with LOTO, PPE, hazardous materials, and machine guarding
Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
OSHA outreach training experience a plus
