Compensation: $ 22 - $27 per hour

Established in 1946, ECF is the only organization of its kind in California to provide a lifespan of services for children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Position Summary

Work on a 1:1 basis during school hours with clients who have behavior challenges, social emotional issues and academic problems. Assist with their academic, behavioral and social-emotional interactions. Clients served may include those on the Pervasive Developmental Spectrum including Autistic Disorder; Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Expressive/Receptive Speech Disorders, social deficits, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, non-specific learning disorders and behavior problems. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with other professionals (e.g. speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, etc). Services are provided within local school districts across Los Angeles, West Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support the treatment team in the implementation of the client's goals and objectives per IEP and behavior support plan, facilitating student access to classroom routine and independence.

Working knowledge of autistic spectrum disorders and child development, Applied Behavior Analysis and implementation of other behavior programs, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, behavior intervention strategies, and the use of reinforcement systems.

Collect daily notes and data documenting client progress towards IEP goals and/or client behavior support plan and enter them into the appropriate tracking systems.

Work with supervisor and consult with client's team to develop and implement a behavior support plan based on collected data to include: a description of current behaviors; antecedents for the behaviors; reinforcement strategies and environmental modifications.

Use software to monitor timelines, service delivery and data collection. Ensure reports and billing are submitted in a timely manner. Other Duties

Attend ECF in-service training sessions and staff meetings as directed

Attend department trainings scheduled by the department director

Comply with ECF's Injury and Illness Prevention Program

Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment

Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements

Regular, reliable attendance

Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology/related field (may substitute experience for a degree. See below). Obtain Child Abuse certification online within 30 days of employment and renew annually. Complete HR Insperity trainings on-line within the first month of employment.

Experience: With a bachelor's degree, six months working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Without a degree, two years working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and/or experience with implementation of other behavioral programs

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to work independently and as part of a team and follow instructions of supervisor and department director

Basic computer skills

Always maintain a professional image and courteous demeanor. Requirement

Driving is an essential function of this position. Proof of valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, evidence of state-mandated car insurance, and insurable driving record are required. While driving for work, should a need arise, the employee's insurance is deemed primary and ECF's coverage is secondary.

Provide evidence of a negative TB test.

Obtain and maintain certification for CPR/First Aid and NCI Work Environment

Work is conducted in the field (at local schools and/or client homes). Employee may encounter individuals who are emotional and students who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress or behaving in an aggressive manner. Employee will be exposed to frequent interruptions, loud noise, varying indoor and outdoortemperature, and drafts

Pay Range

$22.00 Hourly to $27.00 Hourly
