Position: Certified Medical Coder
Location: Norwood Office
Schedule: Hybrid, 1 day in office, 4 days remote after in office training.
Pay: $19-23+

Responsibilities:
As a Medical Coder at Riverhills Neuroscience, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our billing processes. Your responsibilities include:
Properly coding physician visits/encounters (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10) based on supportive chart documentation.
Review hospital, office, and procedure operative/progress notes and charges for compliance and accuracy.
Performing charge entry/data entry into a computerized billing management system.
Researching and obtaining necessary documentation/information from provider/office to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding and charge entry.
Assisting with research for denied claims & appeals; medical coverage policy/medical necessity.
All other duties as assigned.
Background and Experience
Certified Coding (CPC) experience required. Experience in physician, specialty, surgical, hospital or pain management setting preferred.
Minimum three (3) years EHR/EMR (preferably Greenway and/or Epic) and Practice Management experience in a healthcare setting.
Current & active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is required. If currently not CPC certified in ICD10, ICD-10 certification required within 3 months of hire.
Proficient understanding and knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
Detailed knowledge of medical & anatomical terminology.
Detailed knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality & privacy regulations.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
