The Candidate

The ideal candidate for the position is a professional with a strong foundation in quantitative disciplines such as mathematics, statistics, or finance.. With a keen interest in financial markets and renewable energy systems, they are capable of developing models and algorithms to forecast trends and optimize trading strategies. The Role

You will be strengthening our Trading and Portfolio management desk focussing on building, managing and trading REC and Carbon offset. This desk forms the beating heart of our Houston office. The trading and portfolio management teams takes full responsibility over our trading books and quotes live prices to the different sales-trading teams who have direct contact with market participants. You are (or become) the expert on the underlying drivers causing prices to change and all characteristics of the different systems and methodologies in place.

The role will consist of, but not limited to, the following actions on a daily basis:

Work and optimize our U.S. renewable energy market portfolios in order to capture all trading opportunities and monitor all risk

Identify trading opportunities resulting from our books, the Sales-Trading flow or market movements

Quote competitive prices on a daily basis to the sales-trading team

Work together with Mid-office for a daily reconciliation and with Risk for updated VAR monitoringStay updated on market activity through direct engagement with market participants such as traders, brokers and platforms

The Requirements

In order to be considered for the role you will meet the following:

Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, engineering, or related quantitative field.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL

Strong quantitative skills, including econometrics, time series analysis, and optimization methods.

Understanding of financial markets, trading principles, and risk management concepts.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and modelling.

Living or willing to relocate to Houston, Texas.

Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving market dynamics and regulatory changes.
