The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Statistics Analyst in the Office of Court Services. The Statistics Analyst is responsible for providing analytic and general research support services to the Court Services Division, other offices of the Court, and local courts and other justice partners.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

COMPETENCIES

Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.

Statistical Data Analysis: Strong ability in developing, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data, ideally within a legal or court environment.

Statistical Knowledge\: Proficient in statistical methods, research techniques, and mathematical principles.

Analytical Thinking\: Ability to assess complex issues logically.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and solve issues independently.

Communications: Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively either verbally or in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers and phones. The employee may be required to move about the office and building. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to communicate and exchange information, including but not limited to research and writing.

What You'll Do:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Analytic & Research Support: Provides research and analytic support to the Director of Court Services and other Supreme Court offices on various projects.

Court Structure Analysis: Assists in reviewing requests from local courts for changes in court structure, organization, and judgeships; supports project management and proposal responses.

Case Management Assistance\: Supports the Case Management Section with caseflow management and operational reviews; analyzes local court statistics and prepares analytic reports.

Statistical Analysis\: Creates ad hoc statistical analyses for local courts and consults with court staff on caseload and performance measurement.

Data Compilation Support\: Assists in producing the Court’s statistical data compilations, including dashboards and reports; manages project workflows.

Curriculum & Education\: Helps develop curriculum and serves as faculty for courses on caseflow management, statistical reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Board & Committee Support: Provides subject matter expertise to Court boards, commissions, and task forces on statistics, performance measurement, and judicial operations.

Collaboration with IT\: Works with the IT Division to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting for Court Services Division programs.

Data Policy Alignment: Ensures data policies align with the Office of Court Services’ mission and strategies.

Software Evaluation\: Evaluates and recommends software for data acquisition, maintenance, analysis, and visualization.

Stakeholder Engagement: Maintains relationships with national research organizations and other court systems for research and analysis.

STAFF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
