Who We Are:

The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) oversees capital projects undertaken by state agencies and state-supported higher education institutions; manages Ohio's school facility programs which support the construction and renovation of public K-12 schools; and administers the funding for community-based cultural and sports facilities projects.

The Commission sets uniform rules, procedures, and standardized documents for state construction under Chapter 153.

The legislature established the Commission in 2012 with the merger of the Ohio School Facilities Commission (OSFC) and the former Office of State Architect. In 2013, the Commission undertook oversight of the cultural facilities grants program. In 2017, the legislature further folded all OSFC duties and responsibilities into the Commission, consolidating guidance and oversight for its various programs into one entity.

In 2021, the Commission celebrated 100 years of public construction in the Buckeye State.

What We Do:

What You'll Do:

Coordinating and Managing Capital Finance and Staff:

Provides financial oversight and management of the K-12, agency, higher education, and grant programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives

Manages the activity of capital finance staff members, providing guidance, support, and resources as needed to achieve goals and objectives

Fosters a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting teamwork, professional growth, and accountability among staff members

Develops and oversees the capital budget

Prepares regular reports on capital budget performance, highlighting key metrics and trends, and ensuring the reports are comprehensive, accurate, and transparent

Analyzes data and forecasts to make strategic decisions

Formulating and Implementing Policies:

Develops, implements, and enhances policies, procedures, and guidelines governing capital finance activities, ensuring compliance with rules, regulations, and best practices

Analyzing legislative changes impacting the programs and recommending adjustments to policies and procedures as necessary

Providing expertise and guidance to OFCC senior leadership on matters related to capital finance policy development and implementation

Representing OFCC with Internal and External Stakeholders\:

Works with other sections within OFCC to foster a collaborative environment that promotes responsible fiscal practices, offering financial insights and advice as needed

Represents OFCC in meetings and presentations with external stakeholders, including government officials, state agencies, school districts, federal agencies, and grantees

Builds and maintains positive relationships with external partners and stakeholders
