Platform Engineer

Job Description

ComResource is looking for a Platform Engineer.

We need someone to assist in building outstanding software solutions and infrastructure to ensure platform stability, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

Maintain platform uptime, performance, stability, and scalability.

Design, guide, mentor, and challenge system architecture and design with others.

Develop and maintain public APIs.

Develop robust, extensible solutions based on feature requests.

Work with big data technologies such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.

Collaborate with Data Scientists to develop value-added features.

Partner with DBAs to create ETL and data warehouse systems.

Work with Operations to automate solutions and increase service reliability.

Closely monitor all platform-related production systems.

Build tools and processes to support analytics, monitoring, machine learning, and data warehousing platforms.

Define and implement strategies covering networking, backups, and fog computing configurations.

Provision, configure, maintain, backup, and monitor onsite and cloud-based server resources.

Define and implement deployment strategies for client-facing and internal systems.

Continuously improve alerting and monitoring systems.

Essentials:

Experience in software or systems development.

Strong software development background and experience building software systems.

Working knowledge of at least one programming language (PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, Go, or comparable).

Strong Linux administration skills.

Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Digital Ocean, or Google Cloud.

Understanding of IT security best practices.

Experience with automation/configuration tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible) and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).

Understanding of computer networks.

Experience with administration at production scale.

Ability to work with high-level requirements.

Business analysis and business systems analysis experience.

Desired:

Experience with Encompass.

Knowledge of Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and mortgage lending.

Platform engineering experience.

SAFe Agile certification or experience.
