JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager, Principal, Child Nutrition Program Coordinator
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Work requires frequent physical effort such as bending, standing, walking, and/or lifting and carrying objects in the weight range of 15 - 50 pounds for a short duration. Must maintain regular attendance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform the supervisory duties of the Child Nutrition Program Manager in that person's absence.
• Maintain records on food and supplies received and used.
• Ensure that the highest standards of safety and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen.
• Assist in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.
• Inventory, order, receive food and supply shipments into the school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified in the absence of the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
• Assume responsibility for seeing that during the meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly.
• Maintain cooler/freezer temperatures on a daily basis.
• Assume the responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
• Assist the Manager in the daily counting and reconciliation of money.
• Assist in the yearly inventory of purchased food.
• Prepare food according to the approved menu using prescribed recipes and determine if the finished product is of the best quality both in flavor and appearance prior to serving.
• Oversee the locking of food storage areas as well as exterior doors in the absence of the Manager.
• Accurately order all food and supplies in a timely manner in the absence of the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
• Cooperate with Health Officials supporting all local and state public health laws and codes.
• Participate in inservice training, conferences, and continuing education programs.
• Report immediately to the CNP Manager and Principal any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen or the cafeteria premises.
• Perform duties in a professional manner that promotes good public relations.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills and the ability to operate the point of sales terminal.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned by the Child Nutrition Program Manager.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 178 Day Contract, 8 hours per day
