Position: Litigation Associate

Direct Counsel has partnered with a dynamic and global law firm who is seeking a highly qualified litigation associate to join its dynamic Commercial Litigation group in their Orange County office. Their Dispute Resolution & Restructuring Department serves a wide variety of clients in connection with many exciting and challenging matters. The ideal candidate will possess robust experience in both state and federal court settings, including extensive research and writing, drafting, leading hearings and motions, taking depositions, and providing comprehensive litigation support. This role represents an exciting opportunity for accelerated professional development, as the successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys within a high-performing, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and support litigation processes in both state and federal courts, including conducting legal research and writing.
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring compliance with applicable procedural rules.
Lead hearings and motions, representing the firm’s clients effectively in court.
Take and defend depositions, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
Collaborate with senior lawyers on case strategy and contribute to all phases of litigation.
Qualifications:
Must be barred and in good standing in California.
4-6 years of litigation experience in a reputable law firm and/or clerkship experience is preferred.
Outstanding academic credentials and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven experience in conducting discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, and preparing witnesses.
Familiarity with litigation support tools and legal research databases.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $285,000 and $350,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
