The Role

We're seeking a Lead Python Software Engineer to spearhead development of our next-generation platforma greenfield product with strategic visibility and massive impact.

Youll lead technical design, mentor engineers, and partner cross-functionally to turn high-level ideas into scalable, secure, and user-friendly systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in ambiguity, loves solving hard problems, and has a track record of bringing 01 products to life.

What Youll Do

Lead architecture and technical strategy for a new, cloud-native civic platform built on Python

Own end-to-end delivery of major initiativesfrom design through deployment, observability, and iteration

Guide engineering decisions on stack, system design, API design, infrastructure, and tooling

Collaborate with product, design, and leadership to define and drive the product roadmap

Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, and ensure best practices are upheld across the team

Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and technical excellence

Champion a customer-first, iterative mindset grounded in rapid learning and continuous improvement

What Were Looking For

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 12+ years in a technical lead or staff-level role

Strong Python backend expertise with experience across frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask

Demonstrated success in building and scaling greenfield applications

Proficiency in cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, and scalable infrastructure (AWS, Docker, Terraform, etc.)

Exceptional communication and leadership skillsable to align technical direction with product goals and influence without authority

A builders mindset: Youre proactive, resourceful, and energized by autonomy and ownership

Previous experience at a high-growth startup or in a fast-moving product environment
