Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Drawing 1 for the Fall 2025 semester. This foundational course introduces students to the principles and techniques of observational drawing, fostering both technical skill development and individual artistic expression.
Responsibilities
Deliver instruction in foundational drawing concepts, methods, and skills, including working from direct observation, composition, light and shadow, perspective, and various drawing media.
Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria.
Hold office hours to support students outside of class.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Expertise in drawing.
Familiarity with a variety of traditional drawing media.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations:
Prior teaching experience at the community college level.
Experience with diverse student populations.
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
Pay Rate
$985 per credit hour
