The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) seeks a Hospitalist Physician to join the inpatient internal medicine team at VCU Tappahannock Hospitala small, rural hospital nestled on the scenic banks of the Rappahannock River.

Position Highlights

Daytime Duties:

Admit patients from the ED or outpatient setting.

Manage a daily service of 10-15 inpatients.

Provide stepdown/intensive care with virtual intensivist support.

Co-manage surgical patients.

Night Shifts: Cross-cover the inpatient service and handle ED admissions.

Teaching Opportunities: Mentor VCU Internal Medicine residents and other learners, as desired.

Qualifications

Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine.

Experience managing complex inpatients.

Understanding of the hospitalist role in both rural and academic settings.
