NIXTAMAL is a new contemporary catering company and supper club based in London specialising in intimate, culturally-rooted food experiences inspired by ancestral Latin American traditions - from immersive supper clubs to on-set catering for film productions.
The menus honour ancient techniques while embracing the aesthetics, balance, and innovation of modern slow food.
The team is currently recruiting a full-time chef to lead the culinary direction of their events and creative offerings.
While the role is salaried and team-based, they especially welcome applications from candidates who have previously worked as private chefs, and who demonstrate deep curiosity, knowledge, and respect for Latin American cuisines.
Fluency in Spanish is essential, as is a genuine interest in nutrition, sustainability, and storytelling through food The Role Seeking a skilled, creative, and culturally engaged chef to lead culinary development and execution across a variety of high-quality, settings.
This includes intimate catered events, private-style service, and storytelling-driven supper clubs.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation as a professional chef, deep curiosity and knowledge of Latin American cuisines, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
You may have previously worked as a private chef or in a buzzing kitchen.
This is a team-based, salaried position with room to grow and co-create with the founders.
Responsibilities Design and prepare menus based on Latin American regional cuisines Lead kitchen execution for supper clubs, events, and private-style catering Integrate ancestral techniques with modern presentation and nutritional awareness Maintain strong hygiene, allergen, and safety standards Source ingredients mindfully, including heirloom and whole-food components Contribute to visual presentation and digital storytelling/content Essential Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience as a chef in premium or private dining environments Deep familiarity with regional Latin American cuisines (e.g.
Mexico, Andes, Caribbean) Strong understanding of food safety, nutrition, and allergen protocols Fully proficient in Spanish Confident in English, equivalent to IELTS 4.0+ or CEFR B1 Professional skill level equivalent to RQF Level 3 (e.g., NVQ Level 3, A-levels) Creative, organised, and able to work independently or in small teams Desirable Qualities Experience as a private chef or in small team settings Food styling, plating, and social media awareness Passion for cultural storytelling through food Familiarity with sustainable sourcing or wellness-focused ingredients To Apply Please submit your CV + Short letter (in English or Spanish) explaining why you’re a great fit and would like to work with the team.
