Commercial Construction Superintendent
Our client is a recognized leader in commercial and multi-family construction with a strong focus on urban infill, podium-style They are currently looking for a Construction Superintendent with proven experience managing complex podium and wood frame construction to join their growing field operations team.
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities on assigned projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires deep expertise in both podium construction (concrete over steel/wood) and multi-story wood framing, often found in mixed-use, hospitality, or multi-family projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily job site operations and enforce safety protocols (OSHA compliance)
Oversee all field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers on-site
Create and manage look-ahead schedules and maintain adherence to the master project schedule
Coordinate all inspections, permits, and municipal requirements
Ensure all work is performed according to plans, specifications, and local code requirements
Lead site meetings, communicate expectations, and resolve field-level conflicts proactively
Monitor site logistics, deliveries, and material inventory to prevent delays
Perform quality control inspections and manage punch list activities
Work closely with Project Manager to track progress, address challenges, and manage change orders
Report daily progress and incidents using project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid)
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience as a superintendent on commercial and/or multi-family projects
Proven experience with podium structures (concrete over 1 or 2 levels of parking or retail)
Strong background in Type III and Type V wood-frame construction, including sequencing and fire-rated assemblies
Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, safety, and inspection processes
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs (architectural, structural, and MEP)
Proficient in construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project)
Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
OSHA 30 certification required
First Aid/CPR certification preferred
