Job Description
OEwaves is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support production of Opto-Electronic products and the development of new technologies.
The Electrical Engineer will be part of a team assisting the development and productization of photonic and microwave-photonic products and systems, including lasers and photonic microwave-mmW photonic sources that are part of a growing trend in next generation classical and quantum generation sensors and advanced communication applications. This role will support both the production of existing products as well as the research and development of new products. The Electrical Engineer will work with the production team to ensure product quality, the engineering team to develop control algorithms, and the product and marketing teams to plan improvements to the customer experience.
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Design, including part selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout, for new electronic hardware for the control of opto-electronic systems
Interface with vendors for procurement of control electronics
Test and bring-up new hardware
Perform quality control testing on production circuitry
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on failed components and products
Set-up and run benchtop prototyping and breadboarding of new designs
Develop and maintain interface control diagrams and documentation
Skills/Experience Requirements:
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field; or B.S. in the above fields with 5 years of experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Low-noise analog circuit design
Digital circuit design
Schematic capture
PCB layout, such as Altium or similar
Experience with laboratory equipment including VNA, signal generators, spectrum analyzers
Basic MS Office experience
US Citizenship, Permanent Residency is required
Preference will be given to candidates with experience with the following:
RF/Microwave circuit design and analysis
Mixed signal design
Embedded systems
Laser and temperature controller circuit design
Signal processing methods
Microprocessor (embedded C, C++) and/or FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog)
Radiation-hard/space-qualified circuit design
