Software Engineer III
Job Description
Description:
Design, develop, test, document, and analyze software applications for company products. Duties include:
Design and develop User Interface and backend architecture.
Develop and integrate C#/C++/Python libraries to establish communication among production machines.
Provide design requirements for Electrical team.
Test and validate sensors/lighting/computing boards to ensure they meet software specifications.
Work closely with the Mechanical team to finalize hardware design and ensure the placements of sensors/LEDs/cameras satisfy what the software needs Integrate cutting-edge computer vision technology in camera-base software.
Design and automate Software Quality Assurance (SQA) test cases.
Oversee release of vision software, implement features, and perform integrated testing with overall system and SQA.
Develop program driver code for cameras, sensors, and lighting so that software can control via I2C/USB/SPI protocol.
Develop and maintain Docker pipeline to facilitate the deployment of semiconductor products.
Debug software components upon field escalation.
Assist team with specification, code, and design reviews.
May telecommute within commuting distance of the worksite.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of software development experience in a consulting firm or in the semiconductor industry.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
1) 2 years of C# and C++ programming experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and Linux and Windows operating systems.
2) 2 years of Python scripting experience developing computer vision and machine learning algorithms in software applications.
3) 2 years of experience in UI/UX frontend and backend server development.
4) 2 years of experience in Docker development, building images and deploying containers for production.
5) 2 years of experience in Software Testing Framework including SQA Automation.
6) 2 years of experience working with embedded software and hardware integration with sensors and cameras.
7) 2 years of experience in programming multi-threading and network communication.
8) 2 years of software/firmware development experience on Real-time Operating systems (RTOS) including Linux, Jetson JetPack, Pi Raspberry, and using microcontroller unit (MCU) chips.

Compensation
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
