Hands of Heartland is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with the people we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

What You’ll Do: Work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting them with day to day living activities at our Day Center or in Residential Settings. In our Day Centers, you will support individuals with planned group-based or individual-focused activities. In the Residential Settings, you will support individuals with activities in a home environment and in community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, or household chores.

This position may require you to transport individuals in company vehicles. You will be paid extra for driving.

Shifts Needed: Variety of shifts needed - Days, Evenings, overnights and PRN weekends

Some overnight shifts allow you to sleep for a certain number of hours, getting up only as needed, other shifts require you to stay awake for the entire shift.

Skillset Needed for the Job: Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals.

Requirements: Must be 18 years old. Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance. Must be able to pass all background checks. Experience not required.

Pay: $16 an hour. We pay more for experience and if you have a CNA license. Incentives also available.
