What you will do

Performs a variety of complex maintenance and repair services in specialized activities on access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.

How you will do it

Performs a variety of complex maintenance and repair services in specialized activities on access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm and intercom systems.

Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service and repair work.

Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.

Requisition of new supplies and equipment.

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.

Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer expectations and manufacturer specifications.

Field coordination and communication, system programming, commissioning, AHJ testing and training on new system installations

Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshooting potential field wiring problems

Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective method in restoring a specific system back to normal condition

Manage assigned Electronic Systems service calls regarding field labour hours estimated

Customer satisfaction through coordination, response to customer requests and problems

Prepare reports on daily activities

May be required to work overtime

Capable of working in cramped workspaces such as ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

Complete mileage and monthly vehicle report in a timely manner.

What we look for

Required

Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays as per shift rotation.

Shifts are 14 days on, 14 days off. 12-hour days at Regular pay.

Flights to & from Calgary or Edmonton to & from site are included by employer. Travel to & from Calgary or Edmonton to home may be at the cost of the employee.

Food and accommodation provided while on site/shift.

Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol testing is required. Post-employment Drug & Alcohol testing can occur at any time as deemed by site rules

No alcohol or drugs on site at any given time – work site is a dry camp

Required to possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.

2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems

Minimum high school/trade school graduate

2-year associate degree in a technical field involving electronics or computers preferred

Demonstrated working knowledge of electricity and electronics

Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs

Security experience with C-Cure 9000 is required.

Ability to effectively work independently

Demonstrated high level of customer service

Able to carry and move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds

Comfortable working in an environment that may involve climbing ladders and scaffoldings with equipment, upwards to forty (40) feet

Working knowledge of personal computers (Windows 2000, XP, Windows 7) and Microsoft's suite of Office software

Working knowledge of IT network systems

Ability to use hand and power tools and test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters and communication devices as required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents, as well as project plans, specifications, schedules, and equipment installation/operation/troubleshooting manual.
