STRS Ohio is seeking an Analyst I or Analyst II, Private Credit to join the Investments/Private Credit team. Nearly two-thirds of STRS Ohio’s investment assets are managed internally by more than 100 Investment Department professionals.

General Summary (Grades I1A-Private Credit & I2A-Private Credit):
Under the direction of the director, or portfolio manager, Private Credit assist in the investment decision-making process, ongoing management, monitoring and evaluation of the private credit portfolio.
Summary of Responsibilities (Grades I1A-Private Credit & I2A-Private Credit):
Assist in the development of portfolio strategies using internal or external investment approaches to ensure the private credit portfolio exceeds its long-term benchmark. (Grade I1A-Private Credit)
Develop portfolio strategies using internal or external investment approaches to ensure the private credit portfolio exceeds its long-term benchmark. (Grade I2A-Private Credit)
Analyze prospective investment opportunities, including meeting with principals, conducting due diligence, conferring with outside parties and preparing investment recommendations.
Build financial models to assist in portfolio and investment evaluation.
Develop relationships with private credit firms and monitor portfolio companies.
Perform comprehensive market research and data analysis on private credit managers and regularly update internal private markets database to ensure data integrity.

Summary of Qualifications (Grades I1A-Private Credit & I2A-Private Credit):
Bachelor's degree required.
Master’s degree in business administration, economics, statistics, finance or related field preferred.
Two to three years’ experience in private equity, private credit, co-investments, secondary funds, investment banking, investment research or investment consulting is strongly recommended. (Grade I1A-Private Credit)
Three to six years’ experience in private equity, private credit, co-investments, secondary funds, investment banking, investment research or investment consulting is strongly recommended. (Grade I2A-Private Credit)
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation preferred
Ability to research and analyze data and make valid conclusions required. Strong research, financial modeling, analytical, valuation skills and proficiency. Experience with performance reporting and internal rate of return (IRR) analysis required.
