The ideal candidate for the Production Test Supervisor role is a dependable and detail-oriented individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. They are confident in leading others, comfortable enforcing rules, and capable of maintaining a calm, professional presence in structured environments. The role requires someone who is well organized, responsible, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The production test supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities and providing technical support to test technicians. They will interface closely with the value stream leads to prioritize workflow through test.
They will need to be able to effectively convey complex ideas, plans, and expectations to both senior leadership and team members in a clear and concise manner. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are nessessary to clearly explain complex technical information and provide direction for various stakeholders. They will need to be able to clearly communicate test plans, results, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior management, peers, and subordinates, to ensure alignment, understanding, and successful execution of test objectives.
This position is first shift 9/80 schedule.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Balance a 50 / 50 work split of test technician supervisory and technical test engineering responsibilities
Oversee day to day activities and provide support to technicians
Communicate and support customers both internal and external
Purchase and manage equipment, including:
Test equipment and materials as needed
Ensuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
Administrative responsibilities, including:
Reviewing and signing timecards to ensure accurate recording of employee work hours
Managing employee records and personnel files
Personnel management, including:
Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to employees
Developing and implementing employee training and development plans
Resolving personnel matters and conflicts in a fair and timely manner
Diffuse high-tension situations calmly and effectively
Carrying out disciplinary actions when necessary, including:
Test planning and execution, including:
Ensure 24-hour coverage, plan for off hour coverage
Work with value stream leads to determine priorities
Quality assurance, including:
Ensuring compliance with test standards and regulations
Conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure quality and safety
Identifying and addressing any quality or safety issues that arise during testing
Budgeting and resource management, including:
Allocating resources and personnel to support test activities
Ensuring efficient use of resources and personnel
