Description:

Job Title: SQL Database Engineer / Data Integrity Lead

Location: On-site – Miami, FL

Compensation: $90 – $105 k base + full benefits package

Why We’re Hiring

Our core SQL Server database works—but it was stitched together over time without formal architecture, indexing, or governance. With Salesforce CRM, Sage 100 ERP, and ADP payroll data all flowing in, we need someone to redesign the backend, lock down data integrity, and set the foundation for analytics in Power BI.

What You’ll Do

Re-architect & optimize our SQL Server environment (indexing, normalization, partitioning, backup/recovery, performance tuning).

Establish data-quality & governance standards—naming conventions, PK/FK enforcement, documentation, audits.

Own integrations between SQL Server, Salesforce, Sage 100, ADP, and other line-of-business systems; design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar).

Enable analytics by structuring data models and views that unlock self-service reporting in Power BI; coach the team on best practices.

Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, sales, HR, and IT to translate business needs into reliable data structures and reports.

Champion best practices in the Microsoft stack (Windows Server, Azure, Office 365) and mentor junior teammates.

Must-Have Qualifications

5–7 years professional experience as a SQL Server DBA, Database Engineer, or Data Engineer.

Proven track record refactoring legacy databases and improving performance through proper indexing and schema design.

Hands-on integration work with at least one of: Salesforce CRM, Sage 100 ERP, ADP Payroll.

Strong T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and stored-procedure development.

Comfortable working fully on-site and collaborating face-to-face with a small, fast-moving team.

Nice-to-Haves

Formal ETL/ELT tool experience (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, etc.).

Power BI data-modeling and DAX proficiency.

Exposure to CI/CD or version control for database objects (Git, Azure DevOps).

Experience uplifting data-literacy within non-technical stakeholder groups.

What Will Make You Stand Out

You’ve walked into “spaghetti” databases before and left them clean, documented, and blazing fast.

You speak both business and tech—able to explain indexing choices to executives in plain English.

You’re proactive about automation: alerting, scheduled maintenance, and repeatable deployment scripts.
