Accounting Manager

Job Description

Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting. You will ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, manage month-end and year-end close processes, and support decision-making through timely analysis and reporting. While there are no direct reports at this time, this position plays an important leadership role within the finance function and offers the opportunity for a 4-day work week.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience), along with at least five years of accounting experience-two of which include supervisory responsibilities. Experience in a manufacturing setting and knowledge of cost accounting and government contracts is essential. Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred), GAAP knowledge, and excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills are required. A CPA certification is a plus.
