Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer to join our Resilience Water team in Detroit, MI.

This is an exciting opportunity for an I&C Systems Design Engineer, preferably with consulting engineering experience, to lead projects involving I&C, automation system design, and SCADA integration.

The candidate will be responsible for I&C and SCADA design and implementation services for clients in environmental remediation, industrial & municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, and facilities.

Role accountabilities: This role involves producing design & construction documents, coordinating with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and developing technical documentation such as P&IDs, SCADA system architecture, control narratives, schematics, and panel layouts.

Additional duties include support in project planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities, project management, electrical design support, testing, startup, programming PLCs, configuring HMI, data management, writing specifications, and travel as needed.

Mentoring junior staff is also expected.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related field 7+ years of experience in I&C, Automation, and SCADA system design in water/wastewater markets PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months Key Skills and Attributes: Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and work in teams Experience with Microsoft Office, instrumentation, controls, SCADA networks, fiber optic and telemetry networks, IT and industrial networks Valid driver's license and willingness to travel (~25%) Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience Experience in bid and construction documents, PLC/HMI programming, startup Why Arcadis?

Salary ranges from $80,461 to $132,761, depending on experience and location.
