DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator of Annual Giving Program will successfully develop and implement programs to increase unrestricted annual support from Otterbein’s 28,000+ alumni, parents, students, and friends of Otterbein University, with focus in the following areas: Student Ambassador program, philanthropy, and marketing and communications. This role is responsible for providing project and program support, coordinating events, facilitating communications, and working with internal and external stakeholders to execute project plans that align with the strategic goals of Division of Institutional Advancement. On-site support for events and activities, including nights/weekends and travel, may be required. This full-time, exempt, administrative staff position will report to the Director of Annual Giving.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
35%: Annual Giving Programming and Events: Working collaboratively with campus partners, the position assists with the coordination of programs and events for alumni, parents, students, and friends of Otterbein that increases philanthropy and engagement to fulfill the mission of Otterbein University, which includes but is not limited to:
Co-manage Student Ambassador Program with Coordinator of Alumni and Family Engagement to support the philanthropic activities for student ambassadors.
The Student Ambassadors conduct outreach to alumni, parents, students, and friends of Otterbein through phone, email, SMS, and video to invite them to events, update contact information, ask for donations, and thank donors.
Oversee strategy and daily activities of the program, serve as contact for vendors, inventory and order supplies, request and load data into software, monitor metrics, run and interpret reports, and analyze data to ensure achievement of goals.
Recruits, hires, trains, and manages 6-8 Student Ambassadors.
Collaborates with the Advancement team to support alumni volunteers, which may include facilitating the meeting schedules, communication, outreach, assisting with events and other activities.
Under the direction of the Director, support Annual Giving strategy through focused, segmented campaigns that increase the number of donors and the amount of funds into the Otterbein Fund.
Creates and implements philanthropy 101 sessions for students, coordinates speakers and sponsors of the activities.
Assists with event programming for the Advancement team including but not limited to Homecoming & Family Weekend, reunions, and other signature events.
Implement strategies under the guidance of the Director to support giving initiatives in conjunction with the Engagement team.
Work in close collaboration with the Office of Events & Conferences on event logistics and implementation.
50% - Marketing & Communications: Strengthen engagement and philanthropy through marketing and communication campaigns.
Design and build segmented content for the monthly Cardinal E-news, eMarketing campaigns, end of calendar year (December) and fiscal year (June) end appeals, and other digital outreach including texting. Coordinating segmentation with the Alumni and Family Engagement team.
Adhere to the University brand standards while developing creative content for use in marketing and communications.
Adhere to and use the division’s constituent communication calendar as a tool to streamline outreach to key constituent groups, working collaboratively with the Director and other members of Advancement to ensure a coordinated strategic approach. Researching, developing, and executing a social media strategy to expand reach and engagement with alumni, families, donors, and friends of Otterbein.
Create and manage event registration and philanthropic giving pages using campus software and work with the Director to maintain webpages using the content management system.
Create content and support development of related materials for Towers magazine.
Proficient in the Advancement team’s constituent management database.
15% - Miscellaneous Duties:
Assists the Advancement team with the weekly operations of the Lifelong Learning Community, as needed.
Maintain adequate contact reports, metrics, and data of alumni, families, donors and friends of Otterbein contact within the database.
Represents the Advancement team at meetings and events, as needed.
Represent Otterbein as a member of the Independent College Advancement Associates (ICAA) or other applicable professional organizations.
Serves on University governance committees and participates in Staff Assembly meetings and functions, as available.
Assists with other duties, as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruits, hires, trains, and manages Student Ambassadors and other volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university required
One year of fundraising experience as a student or professional preferred
Demonstrated success leading a team or group preferred
Experience with GiveCampus is a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must demonstrate professional level oral and written communications skills including grammar.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be competent in general math.

Ability to travel both on and off campus. Some evening and weekend work are required to represent the University at events and functions. Must be able to spend prolonged periods of time on a computer. Must be able to meet regular and predictable attendance standards.
