Job Summary
Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.
Job Description
What You'll Do:
Administer identity-based applications, including AEP-developed solutions and Okta, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, bug fixes, scripting, and development work.
Conduct regular and emergency maintenance, as well as software bug fixes and upgrades, as required.
Demonstrate superior customer service across technology and multiple lines of business users.
Exhibit an understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Iterative Waterfall methodologies.
Understand interrelationships between multiple systems and components.
Demonstrate critical thinking, urgency, and attention to detail to support internal and third-party vendor applications.
Work closely with key stakeholders to understand requirements for implementing connections through legacy and new solutions.
Collect and qualify required artifacts, develop test plans, and lead application implementation efforts to ensure success.
Consult with stakeholders across business units when implementing access levels for new systems to ensure quality and accuracy.
Prepare documentation for training and audits, and act as the primary contact and subject matter expert for identity-based AEP applications and Okta.
What We're Looking For:
Solution Engineer Senior (SG7):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Solution Engineer Principal (SG8):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience: 7 years relevant work experience is required.
An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Nice-to-have:
1-3+ years programming in Java and/or C#
1-3+ years experience with PowerShell and/or Shell scripting
1-3+ years administering Okta
1-3+ years scripting and automating solutions
1-3+ years troubleshooting in regulated environments
1-3+ years in container management (e.g., OpenShift)
Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies
Experience with access control (LDAP, AD)
Knowledge of SIEM integration
Experience monitoring access and integrations
Involvement in technical deployment projects
Knowledge of incident/problem management
Proficient in MS Office, Jira, and Confluence
Experience with Python, PUI, and JavaScript
Okta Certifications (Professional, Administrator, Developer)
Experience with NIST, PCI, ISO 27001, or COBIT
Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, SANS GSEC)
Ability to document standards and produce architectural drawings
Availability for on-call support
Location: Prefer candidate to live within 50 miles of Columbus, OH
