Remote Contract SQL Developer with experience in Microsoft Dynamics

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer with strong experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to support our data integration, reporting, and analytics needs.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SQL Server, data modeling, ETL processes, and a strong understanding of the D365 data schema and architecture.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support business operations and reporting.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data between D365 and other internal systems.

Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements and deliver efficient data solutions.

Support data migration, cleansing, and reconciliation efforts related to D365 implementations or upgrades.

Develop custom reports and dashboards using SSRS or Power BI connected to D365.

Troubleshoot database-related issues and optimize query performance.

Collaborate with the D365 functional and technical teams to ensure data consistency and quality across systems.

Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer.

Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, SSMS, SSIS). Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations, Customer Engagement, or Business Central). Experience with D365 data entities, Common Data Service (Dataverse), and data integration tools (e.g., Data Export Service, KingswaySoft, Azure Data Factory). Experience building reports with SSRS and/or Power BI.

Understanding of data governance, integrity, and security best practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.

Nice to Have: Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, or other cloud data platforms.

Exposure to D365 customization, X++ development, or Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Apps). Experience with ERP or CRM implementations and upgrades.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
