Job Description
Responsibilities:
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Perform, collect, and label lab tests for sending out to the Laboratory.
Collecting blood and specimen samples from patients and labeling all
collected samples accurately for tests as in the Job description.
Entering data for patients into an electronic medical record EMR.
Protecting patient privacy rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Explaining the procedure and treatments that will be performed.
Clean instruments and equipment after use.
Process, organize, label, and have ready to transport via courier specimens for laboratory testing.
Perform In House point of care testing, UA’s, HCG, H-Pylori, Blood Sugar Glucometer testing, Flu, Strep, Covid, and Hemoccults.
Maintain inventory and monthly Quality Control checks.
Clerical duties including assisting in provider’s buckets, calling back patient results and assisting with medication prior authorizations.
Qualifications:
High School/GED
Minimum 1 year experience as a Phlebotomist preferred
BLS Certification
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with electronic medical records.
