Payrate: $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

Summary: As a Routing Automation Engineer, you will design and implement, automation tools that manage gateway route configurations using Go, Terraform and Harness.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these tools with existing systems, ensure robust validation and testing, and deliver a seamless user experience through self-serve portals and dashboards.

Your work will directly impact the scalability, reliability, and auditability of our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:Design & Develop Automation: Build Terraform providers/resources that manage YAML-based route configurations, leveraging existing Go code for validation and marshaling.

Integrate with Git: Use Harness to automate Git operations (commit, push, conflict handling) to ensure all changes are version-controlled and auditable.

Enable Self-Service: Develop UI/UX flows (portals, dashboards) and integrate with ticketing systems to provide a smooth user experience for route changes.

Testing & Validation: Write unit and integration tests for automation modules and ensure robust validation of route configurations.

Documentation & Support: Create clear documentation, usage examples, and support materials for both developers and end-users.

Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback, iterate on workflows, and help drive adoption of automation best practices across the team.

Required Skills & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or a related field.

Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in software development.

Programming: Proficiency in Go (Golang) and/or Java Script, with experience in writing modular, maintainable and testable code.

Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests for automation tools.

Collaboration: Ability to work closely with development, operations, and stakeholder teams; strong communication skills.

Independence and Adaptability: Self-starter mentality, capable of working with minimal supervision.

Skilled in quickly learning and implementing new technologies in dynamic environments.

Preferred Skills:Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform, including provider/resource development and schema design.

Harness: Experience with Harness for CI/CD pipeline management, including pipeline creation, deployment strategies, and integration with cloud services.

YAML & Config Management: Familiarity with YAML, configuration file parsing, and schema validation.

Version Control: Strong Git skills, including automation of common workflows (add, commit, push, conflict resolution). Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Atlas, MCP), UI/dashboard development, or integrating with ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow). Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S.

is: $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select.
