Dev Technology Group is looking for a Chief Architect to support both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant architecture experience, strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. What You'll Be Doing:

The Chief Architect will be responsible for successfully developing, implementing, and executing strategy for O&M Tier 3 break-fix support and Agile Software development for Core, Portal, and Interfaces, and for POAM Resolution. Key responsibilities of the Chief Architect include:

Serving as the lead technical resource

Mentoring and guiding other technical resources

Ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives across applications and interfaces

Reviewing and resolving technical conflicts/disagreements between Senior IT System Solutions Architects (Cloud, Infrastructure, Database)

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor’s Degree with twelve (12) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Agile development experience

Excellent active listening skills

Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials

Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs

Ability to mentor and lead technical resources

Applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity.

Implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller).

Designing solutions with Microservices software architecture.

Developing and managing data models with CA Erwin or a similar client-approved tool.

Creating and updating data dictionaries.

Developing solutions using Message Services, including development of Apache ActiveMQ services.

With DevOps pipeline tools including configuration management, requirements (e.g., JIRA), automated testing, and deployment.

Developing interfaces compliant with National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) standards.

Designing and implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions using Microsoft Active Directory and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards.

With network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies.

Designing solutions compliant with the Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards and Security Requirements.

Designing and implementing data center/cloud-based hosting solutions, including solution architecture and cost estimation.

Pricing and licensing models of major enterprise software platforms; making architecture recommendations in consideration of lifecycle cost.

Developing root case analyses, identifying and resolving problems, and creating roadmaps to address problems within system design and implementation of existing and new systems.

Optimizing system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis.

Analyzing business requirements and designing specifications for technical solutions and associated activities.

Using SQL, including the ability to create queries to validate data integrity and other data constraints.

Certifications:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
