This is a 2nd shift position Monday-Thursday 1:30p -12am This position is responsible for the analysis of heavy metals and trace elements in raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using the ICP-OES and ICP-MS spectroscopic techniques in order to ensure compliance with BRC specifications and cGMP regulations.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Perform quantitative analysis of heavy metals (HM) on raw materials and finished products.
· Perform assay of trace elements on raw materials, in-process blends, and finished products.
· Perform routine maintenance and trouble-shooting on ICP instruments.
· Ensure that the annual qualification on the ICP instruments is performed
· Execute elemental analysis for R & D protocols as needed
· In addition to elemental analysis, perform general Lab analytical protocols: DT, specific gravity, pH, etc.
· Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Requirements and Skills
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or related scientific field.
· Skills/knowledge of basic laboratory skills (equipment usage, terminology, etc).
· Strong background in analytical chemistry and elemental analysis
Have 1-2 of years of hands-on experience with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS equipment
Ability to properly evaluate and interpret generated data.
Knowledge of GMP / GLP quality guidelines and regulations
Must be detail-oriented with good organizational skills and ability to multi-task and take initiative with little supervision.
Must have basic computer skills including MS Office applications: Word and Excel.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and demonstrate flexibility when re-prioritization is necessary.
Must be able to work overtime when the company deems it necessary
Good interpersonal and communications skills, and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
