Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with OPTUM and UnitedHealth Care business units, Senior Software Engineer, OPTUM Technology, and other teams to understand the functional and technical design for processes identified for automation potential
Develop and configure automation processes as per the process requirements document to meet requirements defined by the business
Develop new processes using core workflow principles that are efficient, well-structured, maintainable, and easy to understand
Ensure quality of coded components by using best practices
Be able to work with version control (GIT) and Jira or similar ticketing systems
Comply with and help enforce design and coding standards, policies, and procedures
Ensure documentation is well maintained
Communicate any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager and provide inputs to the change control process
Support the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phases
Adhere to team standards and best practices while keeping up to date with industry standards and technology changes to help build robust systems to accommodate industry requirements and business needs
Investigate and leverage AI as applicable for current products leveraging expertise in data science, machine learning, and cognitive technologies

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience in software development/programming and database concepts, working with core programming languages
Experience working with distributed teams
Good understanding of programming concepts and a programming background in one or more modern languages, preferably C# or Java
Good understanding of key requirement documents involved in the delivery lifecycle (functional, technical, testing documents).
Exposure to Agile delivery methods
Proven good analytical and problem-solving skills
