What You’ll Be Doing:
Execute end-to-end payroll processing, including wage calculation, deductions, and disbursement for union and non-union employees.
Ensure alignment with collective bargaining agreements, union policies, and relevant federal, state, and local labor laws.
Manage the setup of new employees, process employment status changes (layoffs, terminations, resignations), and respond to employment verification requests.
Maintain accurate systems for tracking hours worked, overtime, PTO, and other leave categories.
Conduct internal audits and generate payroll reports for leadership and third-party entities as required. Complete certified payroll reports and submit to appropriate stakeholders.
Coordinate with external providers to ensure accurate payroll tax filings and compliance with all tax obligations.
Partner with HR to manage deductions and payroll-related benefits contributions.
Maintain payroll systems and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on payroll processes and best practices.
Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees, leadership, and third-party partners.
Who We’re Looking For:
Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
3–5 years of payroll experience, ideally in a unionized environment.
In-depth understanding of payroll systems, labor regulations, and multi-state payroll processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll processing software.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Clear and professional communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
