The Wasserstrom Company is one of leading food service equipment providers in the Nation. A family owned business since 1902, with our corporate office located in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently looking for an experienced Credit, AR and Treasury Manager for our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio.
The Credit, AR and Treasury Manager position is accountable for the entire credit and collections team, including the setting credit policy and the consistent application of the policy, evaluating and maintaining credit systems and processes, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. This role also helps with some of our treasury functions around bank reporting requirements and debt management for all the Wasserstrom companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a department organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives;
Properly motivate and train the credit and collections staff;
Measure department performance with appropriate metrics including ownership of the bonus program;
Provide reporting of collections information to company management;
Meet frequently with company sales management to review credit worthiness and collections progress with customers;
Provide for ongoing training of the credit staff;
Call on customers and serve as an escalation point for credit/collection issues;
Ensure cash application processes are efficient and accurate;
Setting AR and accounting reserves associated with credit collections and treasury functions;
Manage relations with collection agencies and legal representation;
Maintain and communicate credit related policies;
Manage relations with the sales department;
Assist in the daily review of company debt levels and determining of borrowing needs;
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly Bank reporting including borrowing base and compliance reporting; and
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
10+ years of credit and treasury management experience;
Bachelor's degree in business related field
Credit collections processes and systems knowledge;
Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws;
Experience with customer negotiations;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong Systems skills (SAP and High Radius Preferred);
The ability to work well under pressure;
Creative thinker;
Excellent problem-solving skills;
Maintain a sense of Urgency; and
Strong Leadership skills.
