Job Title: Full-time Carpenter
Salary: $80,000 plus superannuation
Duties and Skills
• Reading and interpreting the technical drawings and plans to determine project requirements.
• Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements for materials, dimensions, and construction methods.
• Select and order timber and other building materials according to project specifications.
• Prepare materials by cutting and shaping them based on the measurements and plans provided.
• Construct frameworks for buildings, including floors, walls, and roofs, using various carpentry tools.
• Erect roof structures and install sub-flooring and floorboards with attention to accuracy.
• Install external structures such as fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, doors, and window frames.
• Assemble and fit wood structures, cabinetry, and internal fittings for installations as required by the project.
• Cut and shape wood or materials to construct joints, ensuring structural integrity in all carpentry work.
• Design and assemble formwork for concrete applications, ensuring correct dimensions and structural stability.
• Maintain and repair existing structures, ensuring all woodwork remains functional and meets quality standards.
Qualification and Experience:
• Min Cert III in relevant qualification or higher
• Have at least one year of professional experience or more.
• Sound understanding of construction measurements, materials, and mathematics.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting building plans.
• Skilled in timber framing, fix-outs, cladding, and fine finishing work.
• Ability to use measuring tools and carpentry machinery safely and accurately.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• White Card (Construction Induction) is essential.
• Current Australian driver's licence (preferred but not mandatory).
