The City of Murphy's Information Technology Department seeks to add an IT Systems Analyst position to its’ dynamic team! Under direction of Information Technology Director, this position assists in managing the entire City technology infrastructure and administering the day-to-day activities related to maintaining a stable, reliable, efficient and secure technology environment and infrastructure. This is accomplished by supporting and maintaining the physical and virtual server infrastructure and the wired and wireless network infrastructure, ensuring optimal system availability and uptime. Duties will consist of the need to perform a variety of tasks, and requires independent judgment, discretion, and due diligence.
Schedule Commitment
Regular attendance is essential for this position. The IT Systems Analyst works a 40 hour per week schedule from Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with an on-call rotation schedule. Hybrid schedule with 2 days remote / 3 days onsite.

Examples of Duties
Design, build, deliver and maintain the enterprise data, voice, video, and wireless network environment; administer the LAN/WAN related services; coordinate and implement network software and hardware upgrades
Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence, including data backup recovery, to perform complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in coordination with the City’s Help Desk
Design, build, deliver, and maintain data center, cloud and desktop environments
Performs research and gathers insight in the vendor and technology landscape to provide solutions to technology needs for the City.
Implement, manage, maintain and secure hyperconverged datacenter environment, physical and virtual servers, including operating systems, server applications, and patches
Supports and maintains the data center, including all physical servers, virtual servers, and SANs.
Supports and maintains SCCM, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows Server Update Services, SQL, and IIS.
Supports and maintains the virtual environments, including VMWare vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V cluster.
Supports and maintains the Microsoft 365 environment
Supports and maintains the City’s LAN, WLAN, and WAN.
Supports and maintains network security systems, including intrusion prevention and detection systems, firewalls, switches, VPN tunnels, remote access, and access control.
Supports and maintains the VOIP Telephony system, including Cisco Call Manager and Unity Connection.
Supports and maintains the Public Safety’s mobile VPN infrastructure.
Supports and maintains all City information systems, software, hardware, and peripherals.
Supports and maintains monitoring tools for all systems and network infrastructure.
Supports and maintains Public Safety specific software and hardware, including mobile video security, alarm monitoring, 911 recording, station alerting, CAP, and others.
Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for City software and hardware at all locations, as needed
Maintains good working relationships with vendors.
Assists in maintaining backups of all City database, application, and file servers.
Assists in maintaining City data integrity and security; Supports and maintains endpoint cybersecurity solutions.
Assists in developing and implementing security standards for critical software solutions and server systems
Assists in administering the Cybersecurity Phish testing program and ongoing remedial training efforts; provide program reporting and notifications
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
Perform system administration duties on servers, hyperconverged arrays, and networking devices
Assist other staff members with day-to-day operations such as answering calls and working on various tasks and projects as needed or as assigned
Attend council or other nightly meetings when appropriate
Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation.
Performs all other related duties as assigned, including any special or recurring projects that may be assigned

Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer information systems, business administration, or related field;
Three (3) years of progressively responsible technical experience in computer management information systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Texas Class C Driver's License - driving record must be in compliance with City policy.PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Municipal information technology experience;
Hold the following certifications CCNA, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator AssociateSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to pass a drug screen and/or pre-employment job performance assessment
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and overtime, as needed
May be required to lift up to thirty (30) pounds of computer equipment
Participates in on-call rotation
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
