FINCA Uganda currently offers loans, savings and money transfer services in Uganda, one of the most competitive and dynamic microfinance markets in the world.

FINCA is looking for dynamic people to join their team of professionals as Project Manager – Youth Segment.

Details are highlighted as follows: Report to: Program Manager – Youth SUMMARY The Project Manager will be increasing economic Opportunities for Youth in Uganda, has extensive expertise in project management, planning and execution and is responsible for implementing processes, tracking KPI’s, monitoring and reporting on the project.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Planning Working with the Program Manager and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing.

Completing work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task.

Providing a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed and will be sending reminders of critical milestones and deadlines to contributors.

Management Resolving any issues and solving problems throughout the project lifecycle.

Effectively managing project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved by pertinent staff with appropriate documentation.

Coordinating of internal resources and third parties/partners for execution of tasks and deliverables.

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders concerning project details and deliverables on a daily basis.

Conducting administrative duties, e.g, coordination and setting up of meetings.

Performing other duties assigned by the Program Manager/Dep.

Program Manager in an orderly and efficient manner.

Monitoring and Reporting.

Developing tools and best practices for project management and execution.

Tracking and recording milestones on projects and providing status reports to all key stakeholders on time and in scope.

Monitoring all activities to identify problems or issues and address them proactively with the Program Manager.

Reporting and escalating to Program Manager where problems and delays arise.

Gathering information and data from project team to compile monthly status reports and sending all necessary documentation to project coordinator for narrative reports to the Program Manager and Business Development Director.

Documenting key lessons learned and findings.

Preparing presentations needed.

Budgeting and Accounting Coordinating budget documentation Monitoring project expenditures against proposed budget and schedule/deliverables.

Tracking and reporting on time contributions of internal project contributors and consultants.

Qualification Bachelor’s degree in business administration, development studies and any other related fields.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Management, preferably in handling financial inclusion and youth projects.

Program/portfolio management experience is an advantage.

Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.

Fluency in English.

Proven ability to deliver complex, high-profile projects on scope and on time.

Ability to work proactively, take initiative and work independently.

Detail-oriented, committed to accuracy and thoroughness.

Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving and resolving disputes.

Strong knowledge of Micro Soft Project for project scheduling and tracking.

Strong knowledge in Project Management frameworks, disciplines, principles, methods and techniques.

Experience working with PowerPoint, Presio, Visio or other process mapping software.

Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative.
