Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Painter/Finisher works from blueprints and instructions to perform various departmental duties. Responsibilities include operating overhead cranes, industrial trucks, abrasive blasting equipment, and paint spraying systems. The individual must be skilled in using hand tools and rigging large weldments safely for painting.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
General Duties:
Operate overhead cranes to maneuver large weldments into spray booths.
Use sanders and grinders to prepare surfaces for finishing.
Measure and record dry film thickness using gauges.
Inspect weldments for defects and perform necessary repairs.
Maintain cleanliness of the booth and work area according to EOA guidelines.
Ensure quality standards through visual checks and inspections.
Wear appropriate PPE and maintain its care and usage.
Work across various tasks as needed. Abrasive Blaster:
Abrade metal surfaces using blasting equipment, ensuring proper masking and pressure regulation.
Direct the abrasive flow to clean and finish parts. Spray Painting - Module Booth:
Apply coatings using airless and conventional systems, ensuring proper thickness and viscosity.
Operate mixing equipment and maintain accurate paint measurements. Wheelabrator Operator (Fabricator):
Operate cranes and manually load/unload weldments onto the Wheelabrator.
Follow procedures for operating the shot blasting machine and maintaining dust collection systems.
Safely operate a forklift for loading and unloading parts and managing materials.
Lift and secure lifting devices onto modules as needed while maintaining access to parts. What You Need to Succeed
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and forklift.
Ability to learn basic computer skills
