Mechanical Engineer

Connexa Search Group is working with a well-established firm in the Roanoke, VA area seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a variety of building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical design skills and experience supporting construction-focused initiatives, including HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, layout, and specification of mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities

Support construction documentation, submittals, and field coordination

Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure systems are properly integrated and buildable

Assist with cost estimates, equipment selection, and system analysis

Review shop drawings and support RFIs during the construction phase

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Mechanical engineering experience (construction-related experience preferred)

Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
