Call Notes:

Rubber manufacturing. They support 3 plants in north America. Retread division of Bridgestone. This team is responsible for anything electrical or controls in those plants, capitol improvements, installing new equipment or upgrading equipment. This position would fall into the design/ drafting piece of the process. Working with a electrical engineer on the team, but will need to work fairly independently. Hybrid work structure: Mon & Fri - optional work in office or remote. Tue-Thu - in office

Provide engineering services and support to the global pre-cured tread (PCT) manufacturing through electrical design and drafting to support new equipment, facilities, and processes.

Principle Accountabilities & Duties:

1. Project Management

a. Works closely with engineers in Global Engineering Services (GES) department to plan, organize, and control major projects daily.

b. Handles multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously.

c. Works through direction by GES engineers to achieve goals.

2. Engineering Design & Development

a. Perform drafting and detailing utilizing corporate design and drafting computer tools in areas of electrical design and machine design.

b. Provide detailing of engineer concepts.

c. Assist in designing new machines and processes.

d. Improve safety of existing machines and processes.

e. Participate and contribute to the improvement of the department's design and drafting process.

3. Maintenance of Expertise

a. Maintains reference documents, technical work instructions and forms in the QMS system.

4. Technology Development

a. Uses experience, knowledge, and creativity to recommend ideas for technology development.

Decision Making and Responsibility:

1. Support engineers in the management of global capital projects to meet time and budget commitments.

2. Development and design of PCT equipment.

3. Makes recommendations to project manager, corporate and plant management regarding appropriate goals for projects.

4. Once project goals are established, acts under guidance of department manager and/or experienced engineering teammate to achieve those goals.

5. Collaboration within GES is required with the mechanical, project and process engineering teams to make decisions regarding machine hardware and manufacturing processes.

Work Environment and Occupational Demands:

1. Teammate communicates with staff engineers, plant engineers, plant managers, directors and executive directors from North America, Asia, South America, Australia, Africa, and Europe on a regular basis.

Areas of Responsibility:

1. Prepare complete electrical design packages which may include, but not be limited to, preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables.

2. Develop or assist in the development of control circuits for instrument components, logic controllers, and relays.

3. Check detailed sketches and drawings for project applicability and optimal construction.

4. Revise lists, drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.

5. Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of sources.

6. Ensure accuracy of completed drawings before final release and verify drawings meet company and industry standards.

7. Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings as needed.

8. Utilize engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in the designing, detailing, documenting, and verifying of instrument parts, subassemblies, assemblies or system configurations.

9. Maintain proper file management in accordance with company and industry standards.

Required Education and Qualifications:

1. Associate Degree in Drafting Design Technology or equivalent experience/degree is preferred.

2. 5+ years related drafting experience required.

3. 3-4+ years' experience with AutoCAD Electrical.

4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

5. Must possess strong work ethic.

6. Ability to work well on a team required.

7. Must pay high attention to detail and accuracy.

8. Strong planning and decision-making skills required.

• Education Required: Minimum of HS Diploma. 2 year A.S. degree in Engineering or Technology preferred.
