Role Summary
The Broadcast Engineer role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our broadcast and production technological infrastructure, as well as maintaining elements of IT technology that support the activities of our studios. Our team seeks to maximize the efficiency and execution of our production elements through how we build and support studio technology. Our Broadcast Engineers are ultimately available to respond to our client's production needs. Responsibilities
Support broadcast technology needs on shows that range in complexity and scope.
Maintain knowledge of software updates and patch notes of our broadcast equipment and awareness of what new features are being added /removed.
Perform installation of broadcast technologies and IT equipment
Troubleshooting and repair of broadcast technologies and IT equipment.
Monitor and troubleshoot video streams for web, social and other OTT platforms
Manage and operate within schedules of preventative maintenance
Report on specific working conditions and equipment status at the request of management
Communicate and escalate issues to relevant project leads, project manager, and executive producer/account manager.Role Requirements
3+ years in working as a broadcast technician in television, video post-production, system integrator, or digital media organization
Understanding of SMPTE standards and validation of audio/video signals
Experience with Windows and Apple desktop computer equipment and software applications
Proficiency in troubleshooting familiar and unfamiliar hardware
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of audio, video, and lighting broadcast technology functions and applications
Knowledge of what things cost, who supplies them, and how long they take to acquire
Ability to work in a team-oriented environmentDesirable Skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Passion for video games, interactive media, and technology
A track record of excelling with little supervision
