Position Type: Full Time

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, CO. This is not a remote position.

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Additional Compensation: This position is eligible for an end-of-year bonus.

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer with space operations experience to support data integration and operational analytics for Satellite Communications and Space Operations. This role will focus on working closely with customers to understand mission and data needs, ensuring effective data ingestion into the Unified Data Library (UDL) to enhance operational decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a software development, data engineering, and mission-focused analytics background and is passionate about enabling data-driven space operations.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate directly with mission stakeholders to identify data gaps, operational requirements, and opportunities to optimize Unified Data Library (UDL) capabilities.

Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data from various space operations sources.

Utilize REST APIs, Python, and JavaScript to integrate mission-critical data streams into the UDL.

Automate data aggregation, transformation, and visualization processes to enhance space situational awareness.

Implement cloud-based and on-premise solutions to support real-time and historical data analysis for SDA, SATCOM, and electromagnetic interference operations.

Work alongside operators, analysts, and engineers to optimize data flows and decision-making processes.

Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, supporting secure, scalable software deployments.

Required Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI clearance (CI Polygraph preferred).

Experience in space operations (Space Delta 8, or similar mission environments).

Strong background in data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions.

Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and REST API development.

Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or on-prem) for data processing and integration.

Understanding of space mission data sources and challenges in integrating diverse datasets.

Ability to interface with customers, gather technical requirements and implement UDL data ingestion solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and real-time data streaming.

Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).

Knowledge of sensor data, telemetry processing, and SDA analytics.

Background in DevSecOps, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.

Required Education: 6+ years of software development or related experience with a focus on the space domain with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
