Part-Time Social Media and Communications Coordinator

The Amara Legal Center has an opening for a part-time, contract position to provide graphic design, social media and communications support that will advance Amaras program and development objectives. The position reports to the Executive Director and Deputy Director.
Principal duties include but not limited to:
Develop, coordinate and post weekly content to social media outlets using Hootsuite
Create and edit videos for Amaras Youtube channel
Coordinate/produce monthly newsletter
Develop all collateral material/flyers for marketing purposes
Work with the Executive Director to produce digital annual report, providing leadership on content design and layout
Identify opportunities to advance organizational messages
Work with web vendor to support Amaras ongoing website updates, including content development, infographic design, and integration of programmatic and communications functionality
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, or related field
3-5 years of relevant experience
Excellent graphic design and writing skills. This includes the ability to write for different audiences and versatility across multiple platforms (i.e. newsletter, social media platforms)
Highly computer literate with social media savvy
Experience using design programs including Canva
Experience using eblast platforms such as Network for Good, Mailchimp, and Constant Contact
Must possess strong teamwork, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Willingness to take initiative and think creatively as we explore new fundraising strategies and tactics
Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Experience with nonprofits and/or community based organizations.
Knowledge of human trafficking, the legal system, and/or social justice issues
Intermediate to advanced HTML and CSS knowledge (comfort working on the back end of websites, email systems, and other platforms to manipulate HTML/CSS code)
Experience with Adobe Creative cloud
Supervision:
Reports directly to Executive Director and Deputy Director
Compensation: $32/hour
Hours: 35 hours/month with flexible telework schedule
