Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience delivering user-centric design solutions for complex digital projects within medium to large organisations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accessibility standards, a problem-solving mindset, and a user-first approach to design. Experience in the health sector and knowledge of government .NET frameworks is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Apply UI/UX design skills to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for complex systems
Design and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces tailored to user needs
Conduct user research, develop personas, and synthesize findings to guide product decisions
Lead and conduct usability testing, analyze feedback, and implement improvements
Collaborate with developers to ensure design concepts are correctly translated into functional interfaces
Develop accessible design solutions in alignment with WCAG 2.0+ standards
Solve UX challenges creatively, focusing on usability, information architecture, and user workflows
Clearly communicate design rationale and decision-making to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in UI/UX design for complex digital projects in medium to large organisations
Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.0+ accessibility guidelines and practical experience implementing accessible design
Proven ability to:
Understand product specifications and user psychology
Conduct concept and usability testing
Create data-informed personas and user journeys
Define and evaluate interaction models
Design wireframes and interactive prototypes
Experience solving UX problems in creative, practical ways
Strong communication skills with the ability to present design ideas and collaborate with development teams
Desirable
Experience in the health sector, particularly in designing appointment management systems and calendar interfaces
Familiarity with government digital frameworks, particularly .NET-based frameworks
Understanding of government digital service standards and best practices
Qualifications
Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Portfolio showcasing previous work on complex, accessible digital products
