Engr Scholars Program Manager

Department:

Engineering Undergraduate Studies

Develops and manages curricular and co-curricular programs for the Engineering Scholars (ES) Program as determined by the Scholars Program Director and the College of Engineering Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Services;

Co-curricular programming: Assists with the development and facilitation of co-curricular programs for Scholars students based on program themes; Creates and delivers outreach, engagement, and service opportunities for Scholars to lead activities within the Columbus community; Designs and leads 1-credit introductory seminar in Fall Semester for all First-Year Engineering Scholars students; Facilitates structure and opportunities for self-selected projects for all Second-Year Engineering Scholars students; Collaborates with other Honors & Scholars programs on co-curricular programming and other initiatives.

Advising and Academic Support: Supports students’ academic and personal development, career goals, and overall success in college through academic monitoring, targeted outreach, and 1-on-1 coaching; Collaborates with other university offices and services, referring students as appropriate; Supports initiatives in Engineering Academic Success & Engagement (EASE) and Engineering Advising. Coordinates between college academic advisors and student services offices.

Supervision & Leadership Development: Manages student leadership opportunities within ES, including but not limited to peer mentors and student programming team(s); Directs recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of 1-2 undergraduate student program assistants manages student leadership council and peer mentoring program.

Recruitment, Admissions, Housing & Orientation: In collaboration with Honors & Scholars and Engineering Recruitment, directs the recruitment and application review for the Engineering Scholars Program; Coordinates with University Housing and other Learning Communities to confirm student housing placement; Coordinates with Orientation and First Year Engineering to arrange seminar, clustered courses, and program meeting time(s).

Role is highly independent with significant influence over program structure, expectations, and planning. Program sizes ranges from 100-200 annually (including first and second-year undergraduate students). Weekend and evening work, and travel will be required.

Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in program planning and administration; experience working with and contributing to diverse learning environments.

Desired: Master's degree, Demonstrated interest in engineering and technology as well as knowledge of related career fields highly desired; excellent oral and written communication skills strongly desired; strong organizational skills strongly desired; knowledge of curriculum and student information systems; experience with academic advising at college level; experience in program planning and implementation; experienced with office software including AI agents and spreadsheets.

Hiring Range: $55,700 - $72,700

The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
