Project Manager Multi-Family
Our client is a leading developer and general contractor specializing in large-scale multi-family housing projects. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in multi-family and large stick-framed construction to join their team.
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, and completion of assigned projects. This role requires expertise in managing multi-family, wood-framed (Type V or IIIA) construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of project lifecycle from pre-construction planning through completion and turnover
Develop and manage detailed project schedules (using software like MS Project or Primavera) and budgets
Coordinate and lead subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery
Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety, and quality standards
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch list items
Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings with superintendents and subcontractors
Provide clear and consistent communication with ownership, consultants, inspectors, and other stakeholders
Review and approve invoices, pay applications, and project documentation
Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, permitting requirements, and regulations
Identify and mitigate project risks and delays proactively
Qualifications:
5+ years of project management experience in multi-family construction, with a strong focus on large stick-framed buildings (100+ units)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
Strong knowledge of wood-framing, building systems, and sequencing
Proven experience managing budgets $10M+
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and civil plans
OSHA 30 certification preferred
