Responsibilities:

Horizon Infrastructure Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Horizon Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), and replica/hot-standby setups for global availability.

VSphere & ESXi Management: Build, patch, and optimize ESXi hosts and vCenter clusters to support Horizon desktop and application pools.

Desktop Pool & Session Management: Create and manage automated desktop pools (Linked/Instant Clones), assign entitlements, and troubleshoot session launch issues via Horizon Administrator console.

Access & Security Integration: Integrate Horizon with Active Directory, certificate-based authentication (PKI), and conditional access policies to enforce secure connections.

Monitoring & Capacity Planning: Utilize tools like VMware vRealize Operations for Horizon to monitor performance, forecast capacity, and remediate resource bottlenecks.

Incident & Problem Resolution: Act as Level 2 escalation point for complex VDI issues, collaborating with network, storage, and security teams to resolve connectivity, image-management, and performance incident.

Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Develop and test DR plans for Horizon components, ensuring RTO/RPO targets are met for business-critical VDI services.

Documentation & Training: Produce runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles; mentor junior engineers on Horizon best practices and troubleshooting workflows.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience administering VMware Horizon View VDI solutions in enterprise settings.

Proficiency with VMware vSphere (ESXi & vCenter) administration and Horizon Connection Server configuration.

Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and PKI integration skills.

Experience with UAG, load balancers, and SSL certificate management for secure external access.
